I ride daily here in Southern California. My commute
is 62 miles one way. My bike is one and a half years
old and already has 34k. I've some minor problems that
have been mentioned on the forum, but my bike has yet
to strand me anywhere (except a nail in my rear tire).
It starts right up and idles good. I have had it stutter
and die (especially when it was brand new), the head leaks
a little around the front head bolt. As many have writen
the important thing is to watch the oil level. I recommend
synthetics because i was told that they stand up to high temperatures
better than standard oil. If my bike makes it to 80 - 100 K without
an overhaul, I'll write to Golden Spectro and ask if they want to
use me as a poster boy for their oil. Imagine, an air cooled single
going to 100K! I might be dreaming. We'll see.
